Mindfulness Course Training Objectives:

  • Improve focus and cultivate stable concentration & attention in the present moment

  • Develop a Steady, Sturdy Daily Practice of Mindfulness both through formal and informal methods.

A Gathering Practice for Embodied, Mindful & Heartful Living in 3 Modules 

Course Structure + Curriculum:

  • First Module in 2 Sessions:  Mindfulness of Body & Breath & Senses 
  • Second Module in 2 Sessions: Mindfulness of Thoughts & Mindfulness of Emotions 
  • Third Module in 2 Sessions:  Mindfulness of the Heart + Discovering Gratitude & Mindfulness of Compassion & Joy  

This Course is held over three months.  Each month, we have roughly 5 hours of training time together, totaling 15 hours by the end of the third month.  We spend 6 sessions together on a Saturday or Sunday usually for 2.5 hours. The training is interactive and participatory.  Weekly emails with suggestions and encouragement are provided, and the opportunity to work one on one with the trainer concerning particular issues is also available. Participants are encouraged to bring their actual practice experience back, to support and enrich the process of learning the skills of mindfulness.


Mindfulness Practice Week by Week:  A Steady Gathering of Awareness of the Present Moment

Course Curriculum:

  •     Introduction to Mindfulness Session
  •     Weeks 1 + 2 :  Mindfulness of Body & Breath
  •     Weeks 2 + 3 :  Mindfulness of Sensation & Movement
  •     Weeks 4 + 5:  Mindfulness of the Senses & Feeling Tone
  •     Weeks 6 + 7:  Mindfulness of Emotions
  •     Weeks 7 + 8:  Mindfulness of Thoughts
  •     Weeks 9 + 10:  Mindfulness & Compassion
  •     Weeks 11+ 12:  Self-Compassion & Present Awareness

This Course is held over twelve weeks.  Each week, we have an hour and half of training time together, totaling 15 hours by the end of the twelve weeks.   While this training has an interactive and participatory element to it, we will spend the majority of our time together practicing the nuts and bolts of entering into our present moment experience.  Weekly emails with suggestions and encouragement are provided, and the opportunity to work one on one with the trainer concerning particular issues is also available. Participants are encouraged to bring their actual practice experience back, to support and enrich the process of learning the skills of mindfulness.  The steady and deliberate pacing of this Course is to cultivate, in an unhurried and leisurely fashion, the shifts in perspective to come into new awareness of the present moment.
